Dr. John Flaig

 

Associate Consultant. Dr. Flaig’s special interests are in statistical process control, process capability analysis, experimental design, and process optimization.

 

He holds a doctorate in engineering and technology management from Southern California University, a masters degree in mathematics from the University of California, and a bachelors degree in mathematics and economics from California State Polytechnic University.

 

Dr. Flaig is a  Fellow of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), university mathematics professor, ASQ instructor, 30 years of hands on experience, two dozen published papers, four text books,  and a frequent conference speaker.

 

A member of the Editorial Board of Quality Engineering, and Associate Editor of Quality Technology and Quantitative Management.

Dr. Flaig obtained a certificate from the Motorola University in Six Sigma Implementation.        

 

Kim Niles

 

Associate Consultant. Kim Niles has a master’s degree in Quality Science from California State University, Dominguez Hills, with emphasis in Six Sigma and Process Management. He received his Bachelor’s degree in 1984 in Applied Arts & Sciences from San Diego State University through the Industrial Technology Department and he is a Six Sigma Black Belt Certified by the American Society for Quality.

His career has specialized in improving quality, costs, & or productivity of complex, high volume, or problematic manufacturing systems using quality and statistical principles. He has personally performed more than 145 designed experiments producing an estimated hard savings to San Diego companies in excess of six million dollars (soft savings of ~ $350M). He has a wide range of work experience from medical, material science, semiconductor, rubber molding, and consumer electronics manufacturing companies.

Currently  an officer in three San Diego societies (ASQ703, SAMPE, SDEC). He also serves on advisory boards for SDSU's MS BioMed Quality Systems degree, UCSD’s Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Program, and Palomar College’s Quality A.A. degree and certificate program.  He has authored or co-authored 26 article publications and given 72 talks.

 

Fernando Perez

 

Global Quality Systems Consultant and Instructor. RABQSA Quality Management System Auditor Certified, ASQ Senior Member and ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt Certified. Accredited by the Entidad Mexicana de Acreditación as a Technical Expert and Quality Management Systems Auditor. He has successfully completed the RABQSA Certified Aerospace Industry Competency Course.

Fernando has worked in Quality Management since 1990 in manufacturing industries as a Quality Manager and as a Consultant. He has been certificated by the American Society for Training and Development as E-learning Instructional Designer and Langevin as Instructional Designer.

He earned a Communications and Electronics Engineering degree at the ESIME and a Master of Business Administration degree at the ITESM in Mexico City.

As the Director of FIDCA, a consulting and training firm, Fernando developed the Certified Quality Engineer Seminar in Tijuana and delivered numerous courses during four years. In addition, he helped several organizations to become ISO 9002 certified.

Being qualified by the Ford Fairlane Training and Development Center as an 8D (Eight Disciplines) instructor, Fernando delivered the Ford 8D class to various organizations in the Maquila Industry.

Fernando has improved Quality Management Systems in various Japanese and American organizations with advanced statistical techniques, problem solving methodologies, and customer oriented product design tools, such as QFD, DOE, 8D, and FMEA.
